Chanel serial number lookup
Type the number on the sticker inside the bag or on its card. Its first digit, or first two from the 10 series, name the series, and the series the years in which Chanel numbered that stock.

After the codes. From 2021 (April by one guide, after the spring–summer season by another) Chanel fits a metal plate inside the bag, matching its hardware, with an etched CC, a code of eight letters and digits and a chip, in place of the sticker and the card. The plate’s code does not give the year.
Notes
- The number is a sequence: six digits in the mid-1980s (the guides place them between 1984 and 1988), seven digits for the series 0 to 9 (1986 to 2005) and eight from the 10 series (2005 to 2021). The series is the first digit of a seven-digit number and the first two of an eight-digit one.
- A series is the window in which Chanel numbered the stock, not a release date, and the guides differ by a year on several series; where they split evenly (22, 23, 26, 28, 29, 30) the table gives the window that covers both readings.
- The 32 series is given by two guides: one finds it on small leather goods and a few bags of 2021 after most bags had moved to the plate, the other says the plates came after the 32 series. Every other chart ends at 31.
- The sticker sits on the lining and matches the number on the card; a sticker can detach and a card can be copied, so a number on its own says nothing about a bag, which the guides say themselves.

A code says where and when the house’s workshop marked a piece, as the trade has recorded the codes; it does not say whether a bag is genuine, and Veliri does not authenticate bags. A code the tables do not read says nothing about the bag on its own.
